Will Carlton Holiday finance hotel projects for StayOrange.com Hotel growth?
  We own the hotel in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Whilst we are happy to share our experiences of converting that building to a StayOrange.com Hotel – we plan to grow by franchising, not by acting as project financers.
   
2. Does Carlton Holiday require a feasibility study/business plan for each project?
  If you are working with any financier they will require some form of business plan. We require to see the initial feasibility study AND the pre-opening marketing plan.
   
3. How long is a typical franchise agreement?
  Agreement is for 15 years, and is then renewable on payment of a fee.
   
4. Why take a franchise, why not stay an independent operator?
  A franchise gives you the benefit of running your own business, but also gives you the advantages of Brand recognition, Brand marketing, A reservations system, and the option of tapping into a greater resource than you would have yourself.
   
5. Why an StayOrange.com Hotel instead of another franchise?
  Good question – an StayOrange.com Hotel franchise is not for everyone – it is a new concept, it was initially designed for existing hoteliers in city centers to convert to a StayOrange.com Hotel and so make better, more profitable use of their building. However we now realize that it can be just as successful in other locations.
   
6. How big a hotel makes an StayOrange hotel?
  The concept is ideally suited for smaller hotels – anywhere between 50 and 200 rooms, although 100 – 150 seems the ideal size.
   
7. How much will I have to pay?
  Fees are on a par, if not lower than other hotel companies who are involved in franchising. We will be happy to give you specific details when we meet.
   
8. What experience do I require?
  You already have the business acumen, but the sharp end of our business is all about people, be they customers or employees or our suppliers – skills in managing people are proven differentiators in hotel success stories.
